The Dallas office of an AmLaw 100 law firm seeks a Litigation Administrative Assistant to join the team in handling various complex litigation and corporate matters. Will provide high level legal and administrative support to Partners, Associates, and Paralegals on the Litigation and Corporate teams.
A Day in the LifeThe Litigation Administrative Assistant plays an active role in assisting with the management of each attorney's caseload by maintaining attorney calendars, making travel arrangements, and processing monthly expense reports. Responsibilities include preparing, revising, and finalizing correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents. This position also involves scheduling depositions, mediations, client meetings, and communicating with clients, as necessary. Additional duties include running conflict checks, opening new client/matter engagements, maintaining electronic files, setting up billing requirements for clients, updating contacts, assisting with billing and client invoices, and handling other clerical assignments as delegated.
We Know You
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of litigation experience, any corporate legal experience is a bonus. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and handle unscheduled events requiring shifts in priorities is essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), a strong command of technology, and excellent proofreading skills are required. Experience with a document management system, billing software, time entry programs, and electronic docket filing is strongly preferred. The candidate should be a self-starter with proactive work habits and must demonstrate strong writing and communication skills to interact effectively and professionally with employees, clients, and attorneys.
