Summary 

DLA Piper is seeking a litigation Attorney (non-partnership track) to join its Insurance group in the Business & Commercial practice group. This position is open to California-admitted lawyers open to working in our San Francisco, Los Angeles, Palo Alto, or San Diego offices. 

Education 

JD 

Bar Admission 

Admitted to practice in California. 

Experience 

Minimum 4 years of experience. 

Prior law firm insurance litigation experience. 

Job Competencies & Desired Skills 

Experience with analysis of coverage issues and drafting coverage analysis and position letters

Knowledge and experience in investigating cases, drafting discovery demands and responses, drafting motions, litigating coverage, and other insurance related disputes

Extensive experience with court hearings, mediations, and trials

Experience advising clients on business decisions relating to matters

Significant experience in discovery practice including depositions

Strong analytical and writing skills 

Attention to detail 

Good business judgment 

Excellent organizational skills 

Ability to work collaboratively and independently 

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements 

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Pay Transparency 

The expected annual pay range for this position, if hired to work in California is $200,000 – $250,000 per year.
