Base Pay Range:
$160,000-$185,000As Litigation Counsel, your essential job functions will include the following:
Develop and execute litigation strategies that align with the company's goals, mitigating risk and minimizing costs.Manage and support outside counsel for litigation matters, including case management, coordinating internally with business teams to gather relevant information, and executing case strategies.Develop and oversee the company’s discovery and litigation hold processes.Engage in dispute resolution, including conducting settlement negotiations, participating in mediations, and drafting and reviewing settlement agreements and releases.Represent the company in pre-litigation matters that may pose a potential risk, including administrative investigations, subpoenas and other third-party requests for information, and demand letters.Proactively identify potential legal risks and implement strategies to address them before they escalate, including advising HR on issues related to employee relations and leave management.Effectively communicate complex legal issues to appropriate business and legal stakeholders for consideration and actionOversee litigation metric tracking and reporting.Manage and assist in setting litigation budgets and reserves.Develop, manage and leverage processes, documents, and forms to standardize practices and otherwise promote efficiency.Perform other related duties as assigned.Position Requirements
A minimum of ten (10) years of the practice of law in the areas of employment law and litigation with some in-house experience.Experience in managing insured claims.Must have a J.D. from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA).Must be admitted to practice law in the state of Ohio or ability to gain corporate counsel.Strong oral, writing and negotiating skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Competencies Required
