The chosen candidate will represent the Auto Club and related entities in employment litigation and provide employment-related legal advice to Human Resources and other business units. Will collaborate and assist the organization by giving advice/guidance regarding employment litigation matters and will partner with outside counsel in litigation defense.
Responsibilities
Defends employment lawsuits and arbitrations as the lead trial attorney when the assistance of outside counsel is not required.
Analyzes demands and legal and arbitration pleadings to create early case assessments.
Develops litigation strategy and manages individual employment cases.
Responds to third-party communications, including demand letters and complaints.
Manages and collaborates with outside counsel in defending employment claims and lawsuits in arbitrations and in California state and federal court.
Advises various business units on legal implications of proposed actions and policies.
Qualifications
Lead trial or arbitration experience and significant experience handling all phases of employment litigation.
Experience defending against claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, emotional distress, unfair competition, failure to accommodate, failure to engage in the interactive process, and retaliation, in court and arbitration.
Experience providing legal advice to Human Resources and responding to agency charges.
Excellent academic credentials and top law firm and/or in-house experience are required.
Candidate must be a member of the California State Bar in good standing.

The starting pay range for this position is:
$175,000 - $203,700
