Litigation/Labor and Employment Counsel
**Position Summary** Caris is looking for a skilled and experienced Labor and Employment Counsel to join an expanding Legal team and play an integral part in supporting fast-paced company growth. Labor and Employment Counsel will provide strategic guidance on employment matters, manage litigation, and ensure compliance with labor laws. **Job Responsibilities** + Advise on employment law issues including hiring, progressive discipline, terminations, wage and hour, discrimination, and workplace harassment. + Develop and implement employment policies and procedures. + Conduct internal investigations on workplace complaints. + Provide training on employment law topics to management and staff. + Manage employment-related litigation and administrative proceedings. + Draft employment agreements and separation agreements. + Monitor and analyze changes in labor and employment laws and regulations. **Required Qualifications** + J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership. + 7+ years of experience in labor and employment law, including substantial litigation experience. + Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII). + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. + Experience in a corporate legal department preferred. + Strong team player with high emotional intelligence and demonstrated leadership skills. + Strong attention to detail. + History of self-motivation, sound judgment and excellent interpersonal relations. **Physical Demands** + Must possess ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. + Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion. + Ability to lift to 25 pounds. + Majority of work is performed in a desk/cubicle environment. ​ **Training** + All job specific, safety, and compliance training are assigned based on the job functions associated with this employee. **Conditions of Employment:** Individual must successfully complete pre-employment process, which includes criminal background check, drug screening, credit check ( applicable for certain positions) and reference verification.
