Live Broadcast and Steaming Systems Manager Culver City,California,United States Software and Services The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) Video team is searching for an experienced Live Broadcast and Streaming Systems Manager to help build large-scale broadcast and streaming systems, with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and reliability. You will join a hardworking and hands-on team that fosters inclusiveness, creativity, and pragmatism. We deliver highly available and performant solutions that power our best-in-class live streaming experiences across the Apple TV App ecosystem. **Description** Work efficiently and effectively across multiple projects and teams to understand requirements and engineer highly performant and reliable implementations. Work with business product and engineering teams to gather requirements for system design and operation. Work with content partners to design video acquisition systems Work with internal Apple teams to design network infrastructure for video transport Troubleshoot real-time live video delivery issues, under real-time pressure. Troubleshoot complex internal and external partner and vendor integrations. **Minimum Qualifications** + 10+ years experience + Ability to effectively work with cross functional teams to understand requirements and design highly performant video and media systems + Deep understanding of live production technologies and buildout of datacenters focused on live broadcast systems + Deep understanding of broadcast communication systems (RTS, Riedel, Clearcom) + Expertise with live streaming encoding technologies + Expertise designing, integrating and operating broadcast infrastructure + BS/BA in Computer Science/Broadcast Engineering or equivalent experience. + This role will require occasional after-hours and weekend support. **Key Qualifications** **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience with broadcast command and control integration + Experience with video monitoring tools (Video and transport quality monitoring) + Experience working on data pipelines for log collection and monitoring + Experience with IP networks for video transport (J2K, JPXS, Mpeg Compression) + Experience with issue tracking and technical documentation **Education & Experience** **Additional Requirements** **Pay & Benefits** + At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $313,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
