We are seeking a responsible and self-sufficient individual to take on the role of a live-in house sitter. This position involves residing in a charming, secluded property while ensuring the security and upkeep of approximately 4 acres of grounds/garden. A key aspect of the role is providing companionship and care for a well-behaved dog, so a genuine love for animals is essential. The client’s split their time between here and London when not travelling.

Job specification: 

Lawn moving Pruning and deadheading Maintaining the garden and grounds ensuring a presentable environment at all times Providing daily care, feeding, and exercise for the dog Feeding the 4 alpacas once a day Maintaining the security of the property Handling any minor maintenance issues that may arise or liaising with contractors, heated swimming pool Ad hoc driving duties e.g. collecting principals from the station Running errands

Candidate specification:

Proven track record looking after private household with checkable references Prefers a quiet, solitary lifestyle and is comfortable living in a rural location Reliable, trustworthy, and respectful of other people’s property Self-sufficient and able to manage day-to-day tasks independently Hands on garden maintenance skills Genuine love for animals, particularly dogs, with experience in pet care being an advantage Peaceful and serene environment, perfect for someone seeking solitude
