Live Operations Intern

Primary Purpose

To experience Mountaire's culture first-hand and provide additional exposure of Mountaire's family-oriented work environment.  Fulfill all designated duties within each specialized area of operation for the duration of the internship. This program is intended to provide learning opportunities by working hands-on with mentors and completing assigned projects. The project will be a collective effort through the Live Production Team of Delmarva. The focus of the project will directly relate to areas of interest determined by the Live Production Team, to provide a better comprehension  of our everchanging performance based product mix.   

Primary Project

Collect pertinent information and data as needed.      Data analysis and Interpretation.        Work both in an office setting and field work with growing birds present.  Preparation and presentation of a PowerPoint detailing data collection, analysis, and conclusions.      Interact with grow-out team members, contract growers, and members of management regularly via in-person, email, and phone communications.     Communicate with mentor at regular intervals with project updates and opportunities.      Follow all company bio-security guidelines while performing necessary duties.

Duties/Activities Required by Job

Complete assigned project identified by department mentor Attend weekly seminar series across different Mountaire facilities  All interns must be available to travel to Delaware during the last week of the program for final presentations (August 5 - 7, 2025) All interns are required to complete a 10 minute presentation on their project at the conclusion of summer. Presentations will take place in Millsboro, DE at the Administrative Building during the week of August 4-8th.  All interns must complete a mid-way evaluation (week 5) along with a final evaluation (week 10)

Education/Experience Requirements 

Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university. A good understanding of PowerPoint and Excel.     Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.         Must have a valid driving license and good driving record.       Ability to work in temperature extremes, dusty environments, and with live birds present.     Ability to follow biosecurity protocols, and collect accurate timely data.      Communication skills with both company personnel and contract growers.
