Live-out Gardener role with the opportunity to lead and inspire

Job Summary:   

Dedicated and passionate Gardener to maintain and enhance the beauty of a stunning 6-8-acre garden space. The gardens have recently been landscaped to a high standard, and they are looking for someone who can ensure they are kept in excellent condition year-round.

Job specification: 

You will be responsible for the overall upkeep and development of the gardens, including borders, lawns, and a vegetable garden. You will also manage and mentor a Junior Gardener who is enthusiastic and eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and care for all garden areas, including planting, pruning, weeding, and lawn maintenance Oversee the vegetable garden, ensuring a productive and well-maintained space Operate and maintain common garden machinery (e.g., mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters) Develop and manage a seasonal gardening plan to keep the landscape vibrant and attractive throughout the year Guide and support the Junior Gardener, helping them develop their skills and knowledge Clearing woodland walkways and paths

Candidate specification:

Proven gardening experience, ideally within a private household or estate setting Experience with vegetable gardens is highly desirable Confident in using and maintaining common garden machinery Must be a driver due to the rural location While formal qualifications are not required, a passion for gardening and attention to detail is essential Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively mentor the Junior Gardener Animal friendly (Dogs, Chickens & Alpacas)
