SummaryPerdue Farms is hiring a Live Production Manager for our Growout facility in Ahoskie. This role manages and provides direction for the Live Production operations necessary to support the plant processing locations, including competitive performance, budgeting, planning, scheduling and maintaining compliance in a safe manner, and for compliance with all local, county, state and federal regulations as they relate to poultry production.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Analyzes trends and variable tasks to identify problem areas or successes and take appropriate action to ensure maximization probability consistent with company philosophy and goals. Communicates effectively with subordinates, peers and senior management and non-company personnel to ensure performance and resolution of problems. Develops, implements and monitors Live Production budgets for assigned area. Complies and follows company requirements regarding bio-security, food safety and poultry welfare programs and policies at all times. Maintains safety working environment. May travel to Growout facilities, poultry houses and/or research farms monitoring conditions to ensure bird health. Minimum Education High School or equivalent Experience Requirements 5 plus years of relevant experience. Must have a valid driver's license. Be able to travel by vehicle to producer's farms, hatcheries, processing or other company and non-company locations as required in the course of day today business. Strong reading, math, writing, communication skills (oral and written), analytical skills , statistical background. Poultry husbandry and management experience. Experience Preferred BS degree in Animal Science or related discipline Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements1. Must be physically able to work in all locations including hatcheries, feed mills, chicken houses and processing plants. 2. Exposed to seasonal weather conditions as well as significant amount of airborne dust, feathers, 3. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. 4. Exposure to chicken manure and associated odors, including ammonia, especially in the production houses. 5. Required to perform moderate physical exertion to include pushing pulling and lifting up to 75 lbs. 6. Must be able to climb to a height of 30' as well as significant amount of bending, lifting and stooping.
