THE POSITION
Do you have a background in working with horses? Are you eager to apply your skills in the thrilling field of horse racing? The Department of Agriculture is looking for individuals to fill Livestock Worker roles to support Veterinarians by managing horses and documenting sample information at Presque Isle Downs Racetrack. Livestock Workers carry out crucial tasks to ensure compliance with the rules, regulations, and policies set forth by the Pennsylvania State Horse Racing Commission.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Livestock Worker 1 role involves overseeing designated horses, gathering urine samples from them, preparing these samples per established protocols, and completing necessary records and paperwork, as well as aiding in other essential farm tasks.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Temporary, part-time employment
+ Typical work schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The work schedule is vendor controlled and may change as determined by the racing schedule.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Experience in general farm work; and such training as may have been gained through completion of the eighth school grade; or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Post Employment Requirement:
+ This position will require possession of a Commission Employee License once hired.

+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
