Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ **Responsibilities:** GENERAL PURPOSE: The High-Energy-Density Physics (HEDP) Theory Group in the Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) at University of Rochester is offering paid research Internship to both undergraduate and graduate students to carry out HED science research. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** ( https://www.lle.rochester.edu/index.php/education/research-areas/high-energy-density-physics-hedp-theory-group/ ) The selected interns will join in the HEDP-Theory Group as _Project Assistant_ (for undergraduate student) or _Research Assistant_ (for graduate student) to work on a variety of exciting research projects, ranging from understanding/designing extreme HED materials, solving physics “mysteries” in HED astrophysical setting, to exploring new HED physics phenomena in planetary science. Specifics of research project(s) can be discussed between the candidates and Scientists from the HEDP-Theory Group at LLE. Students participating in these projects will gain valuable research experience, while advancing LLE’s missions of education and research excellence in HED sciences.
