About the Role

We are looking for an experienced reporter to join our editorial team in Houston, to cover the dynamic LNG market in the US and the Americas.

You will have experience writing news and analysis and engaging with sources on a regular basis to get and vet key information.

As part of a global editorial team, you will break news, assess prices and produce analytical content for our expert audience. You thrive on analyzing data and markets, and explaining what your findings mean for our customers through insightful content.  

You will contribute to the profile of ICIS by attending and speaking at industry events, engaging with and nurturing key contacts. International travel is encouraged. 

You will collaborate closely with other business functions at ICIS and contribute ideas for new coverage and services, to expand the ICIS business and meet our customers’ evolving needs.  

As part of a dynamic and diverse international team, you will continue to improve yourself, with encouragement to take up opportunities to develop your talent. You will further establish your expertise at a vital time of global transition in the energy sector. 

The position will require 2 days per week in our Houston, TX office.

Responsibilities

Daily coverage of the US, Americas LNG markets

Writing insightful, compelling news and market analysis, and assessing prices  

Building and nurturing an international network of industry contacts  

Reporting on complex topics in an engaging and timely manner, including through data visualizations  

Requirements

Degree in journalism, business/finance, economics or similar field

Ability to write and communicate with clarity 

An inquisitive mind

Knowledge or interest in markets and economics

Spanish speaker preferred

High degree of numerical accuracy

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Passionate, curious, high-performing, accountable team players

Price/commodities reporting or knowledge of energy markets would be an advantage but is not required

Ability to commute to our Houston, TX office on a hybrid basis two days per week

Occasional travel for client visits, market discussions and conference appearances may be required from time to time
