This is a full-time, hourly position.
Essential Job Functions:Work in a fast-paced environment to complete various processes including takes sample products from trucks and railcars and seals such following completion of lab analysis, and loading to ensure correct content, volume, temperature and weights.Assists and advises Traffic Coordinator of car situation.Assists in keeping the department in tour ready condition.Attaches and operates densifier to the railcars when filling with starch product.Operating Procedures such as rail cars, screens, pipes, valves, tanks, blenders, etc.Clean and sanitizer non-product contact surfaces according to established Standard Safety Operating Procedures such as wall, floors, drains, etc.Cleans and operates switch tracks in rail yards to move rail cars to proper tracks.Communicate with team/shift employees concerning proper operation of equipment, safety concerns, and maintenance issues in person or with use of two-2ay radios or similar equipment.Complete tasks according to the Master Sanitation Schedule.Completes related records of product transferred, ensuring the accuracy of such records and inputs related data into computer.Crosscheck scales on a weekly basis to maintain and verify accuracy.Fills out Inspection Reports after checking trucks and railcars.Inspects interior of tanks for cleanliness and exterior for leaks or damage.Inspects pump filters regularly, exchanging such for new filters as necessary.Inspects rupture disc, vacuum relief valve, rubber gaskets on valves and cover plates, and replace defective parts, using wrenches.Interact regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of facility operations and promote a teamwork focused environment.Maintain safety and cleanliness of equipment and building at all times.Monitors processes carefully to ensure the efficient transfer of product to transportation vehicles.Opens and seals hatches, outlet valves and unloading doors, cleaning and installing proper gaskets.Operates a rail locomotive, positioning cars in appropriate sequences to receive product.Operates valves, pumps and filler pipes, and transferring wet and dry products from holding facilities to transportation equipment.Operating equipment associated with the loadout and unloading process for chemical deliveries including trucks and/or rail cars, forklift, skid-steer, front-end loaders, utilizing scales, pumps, conveyor, semi-automatic packing system, etc.Performs routine maintenance of department equipment such as checking oil levels, greasing hanger bearings, washing screens, pulling covers, working on baghouses, unplugging conveyor presses, and routine serving of the pay loader.Prepares and presents bill of lading to the drivers of the loaded trucks.Properly records, closes, tightens and seals trucks and railcars loaded with sweeteners and starch after loading and inspection.Pumps compressed air into car to test for leaks.Removes and replaces or gives directions to another worker to remove and replace dome caps, using wrenches.Seals outlet valves on cars.Shovels or otherwise removes excess product from loads as needed.Suggests improvements in work methods and procedures by attending staff meetings and discussing ideas with co-workers and management staff.Utilize computer systems (ADMWEIGH and Honeywell DCS) to input and record data as required in monitoring loading operationsVerifies tank car numbers with loading instructions to ensure accurate placement of cars by crew.When unloading cars, connects hose to outlet plugs on cars and attaches special dome, using wrenches.Works in teams to coordinate tasks to efficiently and accurately load products into rail cars or trucks.Understand and adhere to ADM's Safety, Environmental Compliance and Food Quality and goal of achieving a zero-injury culture.Exhibit regular and prompt attendance and maintain attendance record in accordance with company policy.Other duties as assigned.Requirements:Must be 18 years or olderMust be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorshipAbility to understand and effectively communicate in English (verbal/written)High School diploma or equivalentExperience in production and/or similar military environment (preferred)On-the-Job Training Requirements:Complete ADM safety, food safety, quality and environmental training (Good Manufacturing Practices, OSHA Safety Regulations, environmental programs, and operational procedures to ensure the safety of coworkers and product integrity)Participate in company planned operations trainingEquipment training may include but not limited to JLG, forklift, non-DOT truck, reach lift, etc.Working ConditionsAmbient conditions – Work area is, typically, a non-air-conditioned production environment. Hot or cold Temperatures, all seasonal elements, both indoors and outdoorsAtmosphere: Dust (Peanut - known allergen), cotton, canola seed, and odorMust be able to work around noise levels that may reach or exceed 85 decibels and require use of hearing protection for most of the work shiftCompany provided protective clothing required: Uniforms, hardhats, earplugs, safety glasses, hair restraints, steel-toed shoes, gloves and safety harness may be required based on task performed; employees are required to wear all required PPE (i.e., hard-hats, safety glasses, earplugs, uniforms, and steel-toed boots) in addition to job specific PPE requirements. *Employees in roles that require respirators will need to be clean shaven.Physical RequirementsAbility to move about or to a work site by ascending/descending stairs, bending, kneeling and prolonged periods of standing and sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling or squatting frequentlyAbility to operate equipment or machinery that may be located at different heights; may require work on ladders, scaffolding or other work at heights or in confined spacesAbility to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis, up to 55 pounds on an occasional basis and up to 50 pounds overheadRequires ability and willingness to wear respiratorsAbility to traverse up to two (2) miles during the course of a workdayADM requires the successful completion of a background check.
