We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Director in the Institutional Securities Group Equity Operations who are responsible for coordinating with trade counterparties and clients to receive and review loan trade documentation while managing a trading portfolio of secondary loan trades.
In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Team Manager position at Director level within the Product Support Services, which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post execution processes.

What you’ll do in the role:
• Develop staff, lead projects and control deployment of resources, owning management tools/methods such as work queues, checklists, depth charts and calendars
• Set direction and expectations for your team(s), defining training plans and transfer of expert knowledge to contribute to team output and development
• Contribute to business plan for area, establish risk/contingency plans, raise and address issues with urgency when required
• Actively converse with internal and external legal counsel to generate loan documentation and accelerate the closing process while ensuring Morgan Stanley's legal risk has been approved by the appropriate personnel prior to execution
• Assist the closing team in managing the trade closing process through communication with custodians, admin agents , counterparties, and fund administrators while maintaining minimal operational risk
• Operate and understand proprietary trading systems as well as external trading platforms such as ClearPar Virtus Trade Settlement as it pertains to the loan trading function
• Interact with senior members of the Loan Trading desk, Legal, Sales, and Operations groups in order to deliver solutions for Morgan Stanley's clients
• Develop strong working relationships with outside Deal Administrators to ensure accurate and timely execution of trades
• Candidate must be pro-active to independently identify and work to resolve potential risk, profit and loss, and legal issues while communicating pending concerns to the desk

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Ability to think commercially, understand the impact of initiatives, risks on the operational budget
• Experience in managing teams, enhancing control, continuous improvement and reducing operational risk

• Understanding of Loan Syndication and Trading Association (LSTA) documentation and guidelines and a thorough understanding of the mechanisms which govern the corporate loan market
• Familiarity with Par loan trading market convention
• Bachelor's degree in finance/ operation management and/or commensurate amount of commercial banking experience is preferable
• Strong problem solving, research and analytical skills with the ability and willingness to work in a structured, high paced environment, with daily routine operations
• Must obtain Series 99 license if supervising a covered function
• At least 6 years’ relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role

Role is hybrid and will require in office attendance 3 days/week.
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 85000 and 130000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs
