Loan Documentation Specialist
Overview Loan Documentation Specialist demonstrates a thorough understanding of the principles governing loan documentation for both Commercial and Consumer loans. Loan Documentation Specialist ensures all loans, extensions, modifications, renewals, and subordinations are documented and closed in accordance with the Bank’s loan policy and are in compliance with applicable state and federal banking regulations as well as any other requirements designated by the credit approval authority. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Position Specific Responsibilities Maintains working knowledge of loan documentation system software in relation to document processing. Review all existing collateral documents for accuracy and correct lien perfection and identify exceptions to be corrected prior to closing. Review all due diligence documents on NEW clients to ensure information is complete and correct documentation is received to accurately complete all required loan documents. Review title reports to ensure chain of title is satisfactory and does not contain exceptions unacceptable to the bank. Reviews security interests on existing collateral, ensuring collateral is perfected according to approved loan presentation/document request form and state guidelines. Maintains knowledge of Commercial loan documentation requirements to process a variety of loans pertaining to the Commercial loan portfolio Maintains knowledge of Consumer loan documentation and regulatory requirements to process a variety of loans pertaining to the Consumer loan portfolio Remains current on all pending and proposed state and federal regulatory changes impacting Commercial and/or Consumer lending. Reviews all documentation for Paid Loans, obtain correct authorization for any release of collateral and prepares collateral release documentation within 30 days of paid date Reviews Flood Determinations on existing Real Estate secured loans. Running a new flood determination to ensure no changes in Flood Status and updates tickler system. Works with market on any Flood Map Changes or properties located in a Flood Zone to obtain adequate insurance Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements High School diploma or equivalent, 1-3 years’ experience in the financial services industry, preferably in a Commercial and/or Consumer loan setting. Must demonstrate excellent analytical and communication skills. Above-average computer skills and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel). Must function as a team player. Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship building skills. Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Must demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
