**Pay Range:** $18.87 - $29.73 per hour

**Summary:**
Responsible for coordinating the Loaner Instrument program and working with the Sterile Processing
Manager and OR Liaison to receive, inventory, prepare, and assemble surgical instrumentation. Prepares
the loaner report based on scheduled cases, facilitating communication with the vendors and charge nurses, and ensuring that the instrument inventory system is updated with all required information.
**Required Job Qualifications:**
• 0 to 1 years’ experience in a Sterile Processing setting/Technician.
• Certification from HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM), CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) or other nationally recognized certifying body required.
**Preferred Job Qualifications:**
• Experience with Neuro, Ortho, and General Surgical instrumentation.
**Physical Demands:**
• Work requires active physical exertion with ability to push and pull carts exceeding 100 lbs. unassisted at times.
• Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. or more.
• Work requires frequent exposure to skin or lung irritants, extreme cold or heat, sharp instruments or dangerous equipment; reasonable anticipated exposure to blood and body fluids once per month or more.
• Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand on feet for the duration of any scheduled shift; ability to stoop and bend consistently without restrictions.

**Responsibilities:**
• Review schedule, identifies needed instruments, and contacts vendors to ensure instruments are delivered within stated timeframes.
• Familiar with the contracts to verify that RUSH has only items on hand per the contract.
• Cleans, assembles, and prepares instrumentation for sterilization prior to next day’s cases. Must ensure all sterilization guidelines or IFU’s are available for instruments prior to use.
• Creates Loaner report, detailing all needed loaned instrumentation, and send it to surgical services leadership and coordinators team, by 5PM the day prior to surgery.
• Updates inventory management system for all incoming/outgoing instrumentation.
• Works with SPD and OR managers and leadership teams to identify needs and bottlenecks pertaining to instrumentation and implants where IUSS (Immediate Use Steam Sterilization) or patient safety is apparent.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
