R&D Unit Lead
Your role and responsibilitiesWe are seeking a motivated leader to head our local Center of Excellence (CoE) Germany, located in Heidelberg and Hornberg. In this role, you will oversee laboratory operations and guide a team of R&D employees. You will ensure compliance with industry standards, drive efficiency in testing processes and laboratory processes, and support the development of innovative technologies and platforms. With strong leadership skills and a collaborative mindset, you will foster a culture of excellence and contribute to the success of our global agile teams.The work model for the role is: hybrid {insert Linkedin #}You will be mainly accountable for:•\tYou serve as a technical reference for the team, aligning task priorities and managing requests for electronics laboratories and PCB design.•\tYou oversee the planning, execution, and analysis of testing activities, including functional, reliability, and compliance testing.•\tYou lead the CoE, fostering professional development, promoting global collaboration, and maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders.•\tYou ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations while driving a positive team culture.•\tYou contribute to the continuous improvement and expansion of CoE facilities to support innovation and future product development.•\tTogether with your team you define and implement best practices for testing processes, tools, and documentation as well as develop and monitor quality assurance protocols for testing accuracy and repeatability.•\tYou engage with internal and external technical bodies to align with industry standards and advance the team’s competencies.
Qualifications for the role\tSeveral years of professional experience in product engineering or research & development\tProven experience in laboratory management, preferably in an industrial certification environment\tKnowledge of failure analysis, reliability testing, and root cause analysis as well as experience in electronics development would be considered a plus\tDegree in Electrical Engineering or a related field\tAbility to work with many stakeholders in an international environment\tTeam-oriented working style with strong leadership and collaboration skills to motivate and guide a diverse team\tFluent in English (minimum C1), both written and spoken; German language skills are a plus
