What does a Controller at Boise Cascade do? The Controller’s primary responsibility is to oversee all accounting-related activities within the branch, inclusive of general ledger research and ownership. They are also the go-to support partner for associates with accounting and HR questions and concerns. Responsibilities include:
Managing the location’s general accounting, financial statement review, fixed assets, inventory control, payables/receivables, costing and margin, payroll administration, and general ledger account reconciliation. Month/quarter-end coordination and closing. Supervising all accounting activities associated with the general ledger, receiving, invoicing, inventory, and accounts payable. Providing Human Resources administration to ensure employee relations administration, such as recruiting, benefits, new-hire orientation, termination documentation, payroll, workers’ compensation, FMLA, EEO, AAP, etc. in a professional and timely manner. Administrate the compliance programs for SOX Audit, HR and company policies. Acting as the liaison between sales, operations, and accounting. Serving as the branch Agility expert, providing business analysis and continuous improvement for administrative and HR initiatives. Assist with information systems for the branch operations (hardware and software), train users, troubleshoot hardware, and interact with division/corporate information services as necessary. Assist credit department with accounts receivable and new customer applications. Handling special projects as needed, such as sales/marketing promotional programs, sales promotions and events, etc. Driving a safety culture based on Boise Cascade standards.What does Boise Cascade offer?

Required:
College degree in Business or Accounting, or 5+ years of accounting/finance experience. Proven experience as a supervisor with excellent communication skills and positive intrapersonal skills. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to interface well with customers and associates of all levels. Proficient in PC software applicationsPreferred:
Prior involvement or leadership in Human Resources. Knowledge of the building materials industry
