Hours of store operations are Monday – Friday, 7a – 4p, Saturday 7a-1p (Saturday 7a-3p starting in May). SUMMARY: Provide leadership to store personnel and community of customers through the development of staff and growth of sales. Responsible for the overall profitability, appearance and operation of the location by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned
+ Maintains ultimate responsibility for efficient and profitable operation of the location, ensuring that all corporate policies and procedures, including customer service goals and objectives, administrative and governmental regulations are met.
+ Manages a P&L report and annual budgeted expenses.
+ In conjunction with corporate sales and marketing, develops annual sales and marketing plans that will support the profitability and revenue goals of the location. Assist in financial planning and forecasting. Actively participates in and supports the H-builder and CORE product initiatives.
+ Based on annual revenue goals, participates in the development of budgets and staffing plans for the location
+ Provides continuous input to Sales/Marketing regarding possible market opportunities and status of competitors.
+ Works with corporate purchasing and distribution functions to develop purchasing and inventory control and monitoring plans that enhance the efficiency of the location operation and enables the location to hit and exceed revenue and profitability targets. Manages to a planned shrink number.
+ Works with store management and other personnel to ensure that the customer experience is enhanced by good merchandising techniques, and that stores are safe and pleasant places for both customers and employees.
+ Provides staff development through mentoring and training opportunities.
+ Identifies sales enhancing opportunities and develops programs to support.
+ Displays teamwork and effort in performance of all duties.
Supports the goals and objectives of Ed Herrington, Inc. through adherence to company policies, safety guidelines, and work requirements for successful completion of all assignments.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of up to 30 in the location retail function. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Also directly supervises non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education/Experience
Degree preferred with a minimum of seven years of increasingly responsible retail supervisory experience, preferably in a lumber/building supplies environment.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job the employee will need to frequently communicate with others and must be able to exchange accurate information. Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment. Frequently needs to lift and/or move items that weigh up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
