• The Lock Shop Maintenance Specialist assists the Lock Shop Manager with the daily operations of the Access Department including scheduling and making job assignments.
• Oversee several security databases for the department.
• Keys Out Reports must be done daily.
• Ensure operation of all doors and door hardware including fire exit doors, exterior doors, and interior doors in all Student Affairs facilities.
• Installation of door hardware and cores in over 53 residence halls, dining centers, SECL spaces, and office facilities representing approximately 250+ lock changes a year.
• Assists with maintaining an inventory system of locks and lock changes in accordance with established procedures to assure security.
• Assists Lock Shop Manager with daily record-keeping and each semester key control audits.
• Works closely with outside contractors and vendors and issues temporary electronic access cards, ensuring that the cards are returned or deactivated, and regularly audits access cards.
• Receives and inputs requests for brass keys and electronic key box access.
• Works closely with Sign Shop Specialist and assists with the design and creation of university-approved signage for Student Affairs buildings.
• Maintains knowledge of departmental and university key and security policies.
