+ Energetic service technician who can provide excellent customer service. + Install locksets and other security equipment, using BU specified products. + Repair damaged locks, keys, and other associated security equipment. + Make keys, utilizing variety of lock/key trade related equipment including automatic and manual key cutting machines. + Respond to customer needs for building and property protection. + Follow all safety precautions and department policies. + Perform a wide variety of general duties associated with security and access control. Required Skills Must be willing to work any and all shifts. + 3-5 years’ experience with lock or access control system installation and repair, preferably in a busy commercial setting. + Use supplies and equipment necessary to perform all lock shop duties. + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and physical ability to stand/walk/bend/reach for significant periods of time. + Ability to climb ladders and stairs and work from heights. + Ability to work independently and also inter-disciplinarily with carpentry, BU Security Systems group to respond appropriately to all customers. + Working knowledge of combinatorics and other Mathematical skills for master key systems, bitting, and coring. + Must have and retain Mass driver license to respond in a timely manner to campus jobsites. + Communication skills appropriate for business needs (speak, read and write in English). Preferred Skills: + Electrician Type D Reg. System technician license or other low voltage trouble shooting. + Experience installing and repairing with variety of security options, including locks and keys, keypads and electronic access systems. + Experience estimating project time and costs for installing new locking systems.
