Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Locksmith to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will install, repair, rebuild, and service manual and automated locks, locking systems and security devices; computerized access control systems; door openers, closers, and hardware.  This position works on a variety of locks and systems which are often less complex.  The position may also work on projects with greater complexity as needed and able. As a Locksmith, you are a part of a dynamic team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows.

What You’ll Do

 Convergint's greatest strength is our people! Repairs or replaces damaged components of entrance and exit doors; handles routine and non-routine systems and equipment with guidance as needed. Refers more complex issues to higher level colleagues. Troubleshoots, repairs, and programs computerized access control systems. Assists clients in unlocking doors when keys are lost or in changing lock combinations by inserting new pins into lockets. Installs and repairs electric strikes and electronic security hardware. Upgrades and maintains routine and non-routine security systems. Designs and develops master key systems for clients. Examines locking mechanisms and fabricates keys to replace lost or damaged keys. Inspects completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements, and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations. Estimates cost, time, and materials for locksmith projects. Markets security lock systems, keyless entry locks, key control systems, window bars, and heavy window or door deadbolts. Cleans, maintains, adjusts, calibrates, and services equipment used in the performance of duties. Executes all work in accordance with State, local regulations, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures. Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service. Communicates with and works with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center, and company. Keeps up to date and informed on all company policies. Using technical knowledge, skills and experience, acts as a mentor to less experienced staff.  Presents a professional image of Convergint Technologies at all times in appearance and behavior. Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

 

What You’ll Need

Developing knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic locking systems. Customer Focus – Maintaining awareness of and seeking to meet of the needs and wants of the customer. Strong communication skills both oral and written. Adaptability – Responds effectively to changes in situation or information. Basic organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Must be able to pass high level security clearance.

Requirements:

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience: (but not required):  

1+ years previous locksmith within commercial, industrial, or facilities operation setting 1+ years experience in 1 or more of the following: security, electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation
