Logistician (Warehouse Specialist)

 

The candidate is responsible for providing support for the daily maintenance operations of logistics and warehouse operations and requirements supporting all systems and government property.

 

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receive, issue, inventory and stock material at all NSWC Corona ISS warehouse locations utilizing current database system.

Utilize ARCHIBUS database and print issue/receipt tags to release materials to requestor.

Perform property inventory control and warehouse functions In Accordance With (IAW) company and government policies and procedures.

Maintain all supply warehouses and ensure a clean and orderly work environment.

Provide clerical and administrative tasks within the supply, logistics and warehouse department. 

Works closely with the buyer completing all technical research needed in the procurement of assets.

Conducts inventories as required for all warehouse spaces to include property accounts.

Inspect and maintain all required PPE daily. Report all discrepancies to Safety Specialist immediately in writing. 

Identify unsafe working conditions and work practices and report to Safety Specialist immediately in writing. 

Responsible for managing tool crib operations.

Ensures that all tools are properly inventoried and after tools are returned, ensures that they are in proper operating condition and are safe for re-issue.

Responsible for maintaining all sign-out sheets and records.

Performs quality control inspections on property/tool accounts.

Coordinate and prepare weekly/monthly reports IAW established formats, schedules and deadlines.

Performs all tasks IAW verbal and written instructions to the established standards.

Ensure proper housekeeping practices are strictly observed.

Assists other trades as required to accomplish maintenance activities.

Respond to all types of emergency situations, water, electrical, wind, storm etc. 

Utilize Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) when required. 

Complete required monthly safety and equipment training. 

 

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

OSHA 10 certification.

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

One (1) year of logistic supply and warehouse experience.

Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, word, power point and access)

Knowledge of Inventory management and accountability

Warehouse layout and storage related activities.

Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.

Customer service background

Must be capable of operating material handling equipment (MHE)

 

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) years of logistic supply and warehouse experience.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must pass an annual “Fit for Duty” physical and meet all the necessary medical requirements to wear all types of respirators and perform the physical requirements of the job.

Must pass the required respirator fit test and maintain the requirement.

Must be physically able to climb all types of ladders, a-frame, vertical, extension etc.

Must be physically able to climb up on and maneuver on raised walkways and platforms with limited access.

Must be able to work in various types of confined spaces.

 

ENVIROMENTAL FACTORS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Environmental Factors: Works in indoor and outdoor environments that contain excessive heat, cold and humidity, excessive dampness, electrical energy, dust, fumes, solvents grease, oils, moving machinery with moving parts, moving object or vehicles and slippery or uneven surfaces.

Physical Effort: Works from ground level, ladders, and platforms on equipment and systems where parts are hard-to-reach. Frequently lifts parts and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally over fifty pounds. Standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and stretching for prolonged periods will be necessary.

 

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

Must be a U.S. Citizen. 

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
