Logistics Advisor

In this role, you will provide analytical and clerical support for the Commerce City refinery’s logistics and transportation department to accurately and effectively manage transactions at Suncor and third party terminals.


Minimum Requirements:

A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

High proficiency with digital tools (MS Word, Excel); experience with SAP would be considered an asset

A valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to Suncor

Exceptional interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills

Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

High integrity, positive attitude, and excellent attention to detail 

Previous experience within transportation, freight forwarding, logistics, and materials management would be considered an asset

Demonstrated proficiency and resourcefulness in identifying and analyzing relevant data and defining critical issues, alternatives, and value creation opportunities

Strong problem solving, decision-making and analytical skills

Ability to work within tight timelines and meet deadlines

Responsibilities:

Prepare all railcar bills of lading using SAP and railroad websites

Analyze rail logistics, identify potential pinch points and communicate appropriately to affected parties

Plan and communicate truck and rail schedules as well as manage the flow of paperwork associated with transportation functions

Perform shipment costing and freight payment for rail movements

Resolve and coordinate to remedy bills of lading anomalies

Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any railroad issues including switch delays

Ensure successful processing of our interface with SAP and carriers

Build strong positive relationships to meet or exceeds service level agreement guideline on all procedures


Location and other Key Details:

You will work out of our Commerce City Business Center, located at 5455 Brighton Blvd.

Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday between 7:00 am to 4:00 pm or 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with weekend rotations (approximately one to two weekends per month starting at 4:30 am if required).  Note: hours are subject to change based on railroad and business needs

This role is safety sensitive

Salary and Compensation Details:

$65,000 - $72,000 annual salary and an annual incentive (bonus) program
