Join the Texas A&M Veterinary Emergency Team (VET) as a temporary, part-time Logistics Assistant : Assist the logistics coordinator, VET Team Director, and VET team with day-to-day logistical activities such as maintenance of vehicles, trailers, equipment, simple repairs of equipment, cleaning and upkeep of the warehouses of at RELLIS.
The largest and most sophisticated team of its kind in the country, the Texas A&M Veterinary Emergency Team (VET) (http://vetmed.tamu.edu/vet/) provides medical support to urban search-and-rescue teams and resident animals in response to natural and manmade disasters at the request of the Texas A&M Task Force or county jurisdictions, while training future Aggie Veterinarians in emergency preparedness and response.
Opportunities to Contribute
+ Vehicle Upkeep & Maintenance: Drives VET vehicles to scheduled maintenance appointments and transporting VET inventory items from the RELLIS Campus to main campus and other points around town.
+ Program Support: Assists the logistics coordinator with IT maintenance by checking computers, updating them as needed as well as other technology items kept by VET Team to be ready for deployment.
+ Warehouse Maintenance: Assists with maintaining the 4 warehouses controlled by VET Team out at RELLIS Campus. Includes but not limited to: Cleaning and upkeep of warehouse, checking inventory and reporting back to the Logistics Coordinator.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Education: High-school diploma Experience: One year of experience with vehicle/fleet/ trailer maintenance and ability to drive a gooseneck longer than 30ft
Licenses/Certifications: Class A or B Driver's license
The well-qualified candidate will also possess
+ Mechanical aptitude
+ Comfortability working around different types of equipment like air conditioners
+ Knowledge of disaster response and how this equipment will be used

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience.
