Logistics Clerk
Description We are seeking a Logistics Clerk to join our team in Georgetown, Kentucky. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient and smooth operations in our logistics department, working closely with drivers and handling relevant documentation. The role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. This opening is for a 3rd shift schedule, Tuesday to Saturday 12:00am to 8:00am with potential OT! Apply today to be considered! Responsibilities: • Serve as a liaison between drivers and Toyota, addressing any issues that may arise during route design or pickup times. • Handle all aspects of driver compliance, including CDL renewals and ensuring drivers have the necessary documentation for their routes. • Maintain a high level of customer service with drivers, understanding their long working hours and difficult conditions. • Manage cross-border routes, facilitating the smooth transportation of goods from Canada to the United States and vice versa. • Ensure the accuracy and compliance of customs paperwork, understanding the importance of attention to detail to avoid fines. • Handle the receiving of materials from Canada to the Toyota plant and vice versa. • Use your logistics and dispatching skills to manage approximately 350 routes a day. • Utilize your customer service skills to provide pleasant and professional service to drivers. • Use your MS Excel skills to maintain accurate records of all logistics operations. • Take on new challenges as they arise, including potential changes in border security measures and an increase in volume. Requirements • Proven experience in a logistics clerk role or similar position within a logistics environment • Strong proficiency in MS Excel is essential • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building long-term relationships • Experience in dispatching, coordinating and scheduling deliveries • Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures and documentation • Knowledge of freight carriers and understanding of transportation laws • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment • Problem-solving skills to handle any issues that arise in the logistics process • High school diploma or equivalent education level.
