The Discrete Automation Logistics Coordinator I will regularly collaborate with Supply Chain colleagues at Discrete Automation (ASCO, Tescom, TopWorx, Aventics, Anderson Greenwood, Intelligent Platforms, Afag and Branson) plants throughout North America, as well as Corporate Mode Team Leaders and regional experts across Emerson, suppliers, carriers, and other business partners worldwide, and provide them with information regarding their inbound shipments shipped by air, ocean and ground.

In this role, your responsibilities will be

Act as primary escalation point to resolve shipment delays or discrepancies. Lead multiple cost reduction projects to drive freight to best-cost modes. Hold regular performance reviews with carriers to identify and root causes of shipment delays. Understand logistics networks for Air, Ground, Ocean and Parcel shipments within and into North America, and optimize performance across all modes. Use reporting tools for all carriers and internal Emerson logistics platforms to supervise performance and costs. Train suppliers to book shipments in Emerson Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) portal, which selects the best-cost carrier and allows plants to track shipment progress. Maintain the Discrete Automation Logistics SharePoint site to improve communication of information to the businesses. Recommend transit times for each transportation mode to ensure orders are planned with sufficient lead-time. Coordinate equipment moves between plants such that equipment arrives in good condition and in a timely manner to minimize production down-time. Submit freight claims to compensate business appropriately for loss or damage. Ad hoc reporting or other logistics analysis as needed to support departmental decision-making and actions.

Preferred qualifications that set you a part:

• Bachelor’s degree (required). Recommended fields of study: Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Trade Compliance 

• 2-3 years of experience in similar positions 

• Ability to speak English (required) 

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written 

• Ability to work as a member of a cross functional team 

• Ability to work independently and without day-to-day supervision 

• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office 365 (required); Power BI recommended.
