Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team in the manufacturing and medical devices industry. The Logistics Coordinator will oversee the entire logistics process, ensuring timely delivery and efficient flow of materials, products, and supplies. This individual will be responsible for coordinating shipments, managing inventory, and liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, and customers to ensure smooth operations and compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage the transportation of goods, raw materials, and finished products to and from manufacturing sites, warehouses, and customer locations. Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors to ensure timely and cost-effective shipping and delivery schedules. Maintain accurate inventory records and track shipments to ensure proper documentation and regulatory compliance. Develop and manage logistics schedules, ensuring that all necessary materials are available for production and finished goods are delivered on time. Review shipping orders and oversee the preparation of shipment documentation (e.g., invoices, customs paperwork, etc.). Monitor and resolve any logistics or transportation issues, ensuring minimal disruption to the supply chain. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including customs requirements, safety standards, and medical device handling protocols. Maintain and update databases, systems, and software used for logistics tracking and inventory management. Communicate with internal teams (production, procurement, and quality assurance) to ensure alignment on delivery timelines and stock levels. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential delays or issues in the supply chain and implement mitigation strategies. Report logistics metrics to management, including performance KPIs such as on-time delivery rates, inventory accuracy, and transportation costs.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. 2+ years of experience in logistics coordination, preferably in the manufacturing or medical device industry. Knowledge of logistics and transportation management systems (TMS) and inventory software. Familiarity with international shipping, customs procedures, and regulatory compliance, especially within the medical device sector. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with an eye for detail. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to analyze data and use it to drive process improvements and cost-saving initiatives. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and logistics software tools.Preferred Skills:
Certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP). Experience with medical device regulations (FDA, ISO, etc.). Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. Fluency in English and Spanish
