Logistics Coordinator

POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Logistics Coordinator (LC) is an important operations execution position within the Logistics as a Service (LaaS) department for e2open. The role is dedicated fully to one Road client or often supports multiple Rail clients. In both cases the LC is assigned tactical management and decision making in the client’s supply chain to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation execution. 

 

RESPONSIBILITES 

Provide end to end logistics services to optimize service and cost which could include:  Build and plan loads from shipments  Select and tender loads to carriers  Decide on prioritization of appointment scheduling requirements  Track execution of loads against relevant milestones  Obtain relevant status updates or documents from carriers  Identify any risks to successful execution  Offer solutions or recommendations to known risks  Inform all relevant stakeholders of status updates  Review, assess and decide on next steps for freight payment discrepancies or accessorials  Utilize, maintain, and update client specific standard operating procedures (SOPs)  Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) statuses and recommend steps for improvement  Evaluate decisions that could significantly impact freight cost for clients  Assess market conditions in all decisions against clients requirements  Develop and maintain successful relationships at all levels of the client organization  Participate in on-call support rotation or holiday coverage plans as required by account assignment  Other tasks and activities as assigned  Rail Only:  Direct and coordinate company’s rail fleet and equipment orders 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor’s Degree (Supply Chain Management or related field) or 2+ years relevant and equivalent experience  Experience with supply chain software (e2open’s portfolio or JDA, SAP, Oracle, etc.)  Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite  Customer facing experience in a professional environment is highly preferred  Great interpersonal skills with ability to influence others without role power  Proven ability to problem-solve and present recommendations  Road Only  Ability to read and interpret industry documentation  Experience with TL, LTL and/or IM transportation management  Rail Only  Ability to read and interpret railroad document and communication  Experience with rail and boxcar transportation management  Peru Region Only  Fluent in both English and Spanish 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

General office environment and responsibilities requiring:  Extensive use of the computer which involves viewing a monitor and keyboarding for most of the workday  Placing and receiving phone calls  Occasionally moving and lifting objects up to 20 pounds  May require 5% travel or more if needed
