Logistics Coordinator

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

​​In his/her position, the Site Logistics Coordinator oversees the good execution of the Inbound and Outbound logistics operations and leads/mentors a team of select workers and logistics contractors on site to achieve excellence in logistics operations.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY 

Team Leader

Leads a team of 2-7 site logistics specialists; Onboard, train, mentor and develop site logistics specialists, provide guidance and expertise on site logistics operationsParticipate in and co-organize the onboarding of logistics providers post contract executionAssess and improve local/regional transportation performance, address and resolve site issues with logistics providersAdhere to site specific and Flowserve safety procedures and guidelines

Inbound specific activities

Initiate and follow up on exemption process as per policyAdhere to site specific routing instructions and usage of freight rater app to address freight exemptionsManaging IB based on suppliers’ capabilities when other than CPT / DDP / DAPPlan and execute Warranty or Customer ReturnsTrack/Trace inbound shipments to the site under his/her purview

Outbound specific activities

Support medium to complex logistics operations in coordination with the Central Logistics teamInitiate SC Exemption process and approve transportation invoices post shipping process whenever necessaryAdhere to site specific routing instructions and usage of freight rater app to address freight exemptions; ensure selected carriers, modes and services are compliant with Flowserve’s Routing Guide, policies and proceduresEscalate service or performance issues to Global Logistics team when/if necessaryCreate, follow up and ensure successful completion of claim processes related to transportation or 3PL/4PL services when/if necessaryEnsure proper permits are issued when needed (HWA or Ocean Project Cargo)Ensure customer-specific instructions for booking, customs brokerage, packaging, crating and stuffing are followed through and applied (freight shipment readiness)Booking of planning of any transportation operation as per routing guide or quoteEnsure FLS logistics policies for packaging, crating and stuffing are followed through and applied (freight readiness, shipping readiness)

Other specific activities

Onboard and train new teammates on tools and applicationsRecords keeping as per Flowserve’s policies and local laws and regulationsAttend site specific meetings and/or support, Participate in the EOM, EOQ and EOY logistics huddlesCollaboration with other teams onsite on specific projects; maintain good collaboration with other site departmentsDetermine import and export classifications and country of origin for products imported/exportedAssists with duty minimization, export licensing, and review of sanctions screenings, as neededHave awareness of antiboycott, anti-dumping and countervailing duties, and Incoterms issues

Five-to-seven-year experience in similar role/functionIntermediate knowledge and experience on all transportation modesExperience managing domestic and international transportation operations, knowledge of customs compliance processes and operationsHaz Mat CertificationBeginner / intermediate using Office ToolsIntermediate/ advanced knowledge of Logistics systems (ProShip, P44, TMS, ERPs)Understanding and experience on ERPs (create/query on SAP or Oracle)Basic to intermediate presentation skillsAbility to travel 5%-10%
