Job Description

Scope of Position:
Ensure the proper and timely movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Air Import department. This position is an onsite position at our Uniondale Location

 
Responsibilities:

Ensure smooth and timely freight process flowInput accurate and timely data into operating systemTrack and trace Air Import shipmentsManage department’s shipment exceptions, including shortages/overages/damagesWork directly with warehouse employees to ensure certain shipments are prioritized, based on department and customer needsEnsure timely dispatching of cargo, to meet customer’s delivery requirementsProvide transportation and commercial documents to importer’s customs brokerBill clients and vendors in an accurate and timely mannerInteract with customers with exceptional customer serviceBuild and maintain strong relationships with vendors (airlines, trucking, terminals, and others)Respond timely to E-mail requests and phone callsUnderstand department process flow, while constantly looking for areas of improved efficiencyEnsure customer’s standard operating procedures are being followed and updated in the DLSOPUnderstand and meet KPI standard, as per the company’s proceduresMeet company standard of 52 hours training per yearPromote compliance by diligently following all company policies and regulations while performing the tasks at hand, with outstanding integrity and pride
