Logistics Lead

The Logistics Lead is responsible for shall be responsible for the day-to-day operations of supply and material control services which include submitting requests, tracking, and receiving material, supplies and equipment in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS). The supply team shall prepare records and reports of consumption of material and miscellaneous consumables and perform warehouse quality control. Prepares cargo (to include mail cargo) for designated airlift and sealift transportation to and from AAAF and shall provide cargo unloading and delivery services at AAAF. Position is located on Ascension Island. Responsibilities Major Job Activities: Responsible for the performance and daily management, execution, and personnel supervision of supply operations. Shall develop work procedures and work scheduling to ensure efficient use of resources and required coverage to meet PWS requirements. Shall ensure V2X and USG purchasing procedures are implemented in accordance with the performance work statement. Performs and trains personnel according to standard operating procedures and participates in all related process action/process improvement actions. Submits a DD Form 1348-6 to requisition any non-stock listed items in the standard AF-approved supply system and for any locally purchased equipment item Maintains and optimizes inventory control procedures, examines material supply to determine shortages and minimum quantities, document daily deliveries, analyze different suppliers to determine preferred or non-preferred vendors, and update physical warehouse space to match all inventory management software data. Shall provide reports and documents pertaining to warehouse/supply operations in accordance with the performance work statement such as requests for shipping documentation, warehouse stock levels, supply metrics, warehouse layout status and inventory management system data. Ensure all materials received are correct as ordered from the vendor and notify the USG immediately of any discrepancies and filing all claims. Responsible for following a comprehensive safety program in compliance with V2X, OSHA and United States Air Force (USAF) requirements. Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas. Complies with the Reusable Container Program and the Special Packaging Instructions. Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools). Provides proper transport of TMDE between work centers and PMEL for maintenance and calibration. Performs other duties as assigned Material & Equipment Directly Used: Scanner, copier, printer and other general office equipment. Forklift, dollies, hand lifts, man lift, hand tools, etc. Will be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions that require wear of reflective vest, hard hats, gloves, steel toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses and other personal protection equipment (PPE); will be required to push, pull and lift heavy equipment. Use of portable radios or cell phones to maintain contact and accountability of work activities. Working Environment: Be prepared to address safety concerns related to harsh weather conditions. Effective resource management is critical due to potential constraints on personnel and equipment Physical Activities: Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of five (5) years of experience related to Logistics service requirements, as well as experience related to cargo transportation and supply. Prefer knowledge of US AF material control requirements. Must have valid Passport to obtain visa and Driver’s License to certify for 5k, 10k. Experience / Skills: Minimum of five (5) years of experience with managing inventory control procedures. Experience in a military contingency environment and knowledge and experience working with government contracts preferred. The Logistics Lead shall have a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience. The Logistics Lead may be cross-utilization with another position. Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a large team in a remote environment. Ability to conduct thorough investigations and analyze data to identify root causes. Leadership qualities to promote a positive safety culture and influence behavior. Able and willing to work periods of long hours to meet mission requirements. Military experience in a contingency environment and knowledge and experience working with government contracts preferred.
