Logistics Linekeeper 1st Shift

Job Summary:

To prepare the department so team members can receive incoming parts, transfer needed parts to production areas, and ship finished product as safely and quickly as possible in compliance with the quality policy.

 

Major Responsibilities:

Must be able to perform different jobs within the department. Must understand and follow the work standards and be able to train new associates in the area. Perform quality checks as outlined in the work standards. Maintain good communication with team members. Must inspect incoming parts and outgoing shipments to insure compliance with Quality standards. Operates a forklift, Electric Tugger, Man up, Scissor Lift’s, Change Battery, walk behind lift Completes bills of lading, packing slips, and other forms of shipping reports. Position associates in the area according to receiving /shipment schedules. Requires shift work and overtime. Punctual presence (attendance and timeliness) on assigned work days. Must be alert, working in an area with constant moving equipment. Must be able to effectively communicate process/product problems. Must be able to demonstrate setup and maintain the work in every process of your current area. Oversee cycle counts/investigation and report to Specialist/Team leader. Support associates in the process by providing them required duties that need to be performed to meet Team Leader directives. 

 

Minor Responsibilities:

Requires teamwork and participation of company activities such as IATF16949, ISO9001, ISO14001 and Employee Involvement. Requires effective communication with team members, internal departments and related outside resources. Understand and comply with company policies and procedures. Must be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of employee handbook and be familiar with company structure and philosophy. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and perform duties with minimal supervision. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Maintain 5’s standards: maintaining good housing keeping/cleaning throughout the department. May require some travel.

 

Minimum Qualifications for the Job: 

Requires High School Diploma or GED equivalent (NC state or federal educational requirements). Successfully pass required testing to operate material handling equipment.

 

Key Competencies: 

Must have proficient understanding and working knowledge of Personal Computer and strong understanding of inventory management computer system. Must have outstanding safety record Must have a proficient level of arithmetic skills to complete, interpret and analyze charts and graphs. Must be able to read and demonstrate an understanding of operator instructions. Must be able to write as demonstrated through the completion of the employment application. Effective verbal, listening and communication skills. Must be able to routinely perform core job tasks within the logistics section;

Core Job Skills in Shipping and Receiving:

Shipping Section – Possess Job Skills required to:

Accurately stage and prepare customer shipments. Accurately load customer shipments.  Accurately input and process customer ASN’S.  Accurately verify, process and input of finished goods. 

Receiving Section – Possess Job Skills required to:

Accurately unload, receive and stock incoming import and domestic component material.  Accurately disburse material to manufacturing. Safely unload and receive raw material –or- accurately process and receive non – direct material. Must accurately be able to scan in receipts & verify received into Cigma.

 

Physical Requirements:

Requires constant standing and moving 8-12 hours per day Must be able to constantly lift and carry up to 35 lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and kneel. Must be able to apply up to 66lbs push/pull force unassisted. Must be able to reach overhead. Requires work in an environment with above and below normal temperatures.

 

Additional Roles and Responsibilities:

Understand your job responsibilities to perform, monitor and control the process as it affects Quality and Environmental Impacts. Follow all policies, procedures and work instructions and make recommendations to improve the process through continual improvement. Notify Management immediately when problems or non-conformances are detected. Appropriately record problems or non-conformances to ensure corrective action and preventative measures are taken. Assist in the problem solving process, corrective action and prevention activities. Contain or stop the process as necessary to prevent non-conformation material from contaminating good material or negatively impacting the Environment.
