LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT OFFICER
Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT OFFICER, Position Description Number D2058000 and is part of the KS AASF 1, National Guard. Responsibilities As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT OFFICER GS-0346-13, you provide flight, and flight training operations, Aviation Unit Maintenance (AVUM), Aviation Intermediate Maintenance (AVIM), and aviation maintenance training for supported Units. The purpose of the position is to manage, plan, organize, and direct AASF logistics operations in support of AASF and supported aviation unit training and flight operations. The Aviation Logistics Management Officer (ALMO) provides logistical support to, and partners with, the AASF Commander, Flight Operations, Safety, Quality Assurance, and supported unit commanders in planning, scheduling, and implementing a comprehensive flying program. Through subordinate supervisors and supervised maintenance test pilots, the incumbent is responsible for managing and administering the AASF logistics functions to meet mission requirements - both state and Federal. The ALMO integrates and coordinates efforts of disparate functions and resources to optimize readiness of supported aviation units. The ALMO represents the AASF for logistics at all levels of command. Other duties as assigned. This position is located in the Logistics function in an Army National Guard (ARNG) Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF). Work Schedule: This position works on a 4/10's compressed work schedule with four 10-hour days, Tuesday-Friday each week of the pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements. Telework: ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK" Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: CW2 through CW4 or O2 through O4 Compatible Military Assignments: 153M, 153D, 151A, 15 series GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least next lower grade level (GS-12). Specialized experience includes: Support unit commanders to plan, develop, and implement long and short-term plans to effectively use aircraft and flying hours, and to accomplish vital training and operational missions. Assesses the impact of changes in or to the flying program, and coordinates with operations to ensure that these changes do not exceed logistical capabilities. Recommends aircraft and direct flying hours to meet unit operational contingencies. Reviews aircraft maintenance and related material support requirements with respect to specific objectives, relative priorities, capabilities, and limitations. Independently exercises full authority and statutory responsibility for management of assigned program areas. Uses wide latitude in developing, consulting, coordinating, and executing programs to achieve compliance with regulatory directives and organizational goals and objectives. Physical Demands: -- Work is primarily sedentary. Some walking, standing, bending, or carrying of light items is required. No special physical demands are required. Work Environment: -- Work generally is in an area that is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated as typically found in an office environment.
