Logistics Management Specialist
Summary See below for important information regarding this job. Responsibilities Serves as the assistant to the DLA Energy - Middle East (DLA Energy-ME) Deputy of Supplier Operations. Provides expert advice and technical guidance to design, develop, execute, and promulgate operational and contingency plans for theater wide bulk petroleum to OSD, JCS, Combatant Commands, and Military Services' missions. Assists the Deputy of Supplier Operations in the daily functions of the operations control center. Responsible for filling critical positions and providing support to the DLA Energy-ME Contingency Plans and Operations crisis action team for emergency, wartime, and exercise conditions, to include providing liaison to CENTCOM. Develop policy and procedures and provide oversight for the development and implementation of DLA Energy-ME mobilization, emergency operations, sustainment assessment, and Combatant commander's operation support plans. Reviews theater operations plans and OSD and JCS mobilization, emergency and continuity of operation plans. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Performs military planning, policies, and concepts and wartime and emergency bulk petroleum logistics doctrines; organization and planning systems. Experience with bulk petroleum logistics systems structure which develops/evaluates comprehensive contingency, emergency and wartime bulk petroleum logistics support plans. Uses analytical and statistical methods and techniques to conduct detailed analysis of bulk petroleum wartime requirements, formulate feasibility and sustainability assessments, identify problems, recommends solutions and direct complex studies. Knowledge of military command structure, missions, programs, and organizational relationships. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
