Logistics Management Specialist
Summary About the Position: This Logistics Management Specialist position is located at Headquarters, US Army Forces Command, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4, Equipment Readiness Division. Responsibilities Represents the FORSCOM G-4 at meetings and conferences within FORSCOM and at higher, lateral, and subordinate commands exercising authority to commit FORSCOM to definite courses of action. Analyzes materiel fielding plans, "get well plans," studies, technical reports, maintenance and supply data, contractor's studies, and material developed by DOD activities, other government agencies and private industry. Engages DA G-8 sponsored Army Equipment Readiness Conference forums to RESET and reconstitute the force. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) managing equipment via automated systems such as the Decision Support Tool and Global Combat Support System; 2) analyzing equipment reported on unit property books to develop divestiture, cascade, and redistribution plans; 3) managing equipment fleets at the installation headquarter levels such as Corps echelons; AND 4) equipping units in support of Combatant Command (COCOM) deployments, immediate/contingency forces, or modernization windows. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Leadership Planning and Evaluating Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
