LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
Summary You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Integrated Logistics Overhaul (ILO/)/ Phased Maintenance Review (PMR) branch of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO. Responsibilities You will provide integrated logistics support for ships during Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Availability. You will update maintenance databases that relate to ship records. You will provide configuration to Fleet units as they undergo Availability and Requiring analysis during overhaul periods. You will develop, review, and document recommendations intended to improve configuration support. You will review and track progress for technical documents relating to Supply Support Provisioning Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the duties of a Logistics Management Specialist applying a knowledge of Naval Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Navy Surface Chief of Naval operation Maintenance Availability Programs sufficient to perform technical and management activities to conduct, develop, and deliver the required ILS system support to ensure achievement of warfighter required performance capabilities, while minimizing support costs, logistics footprint, and providing the user with the resources to sustain Navy Fleet (ships) ILS programs. Specialized experience must include a majority of the following:1) Integrating and controlling various forms of life-cycle technical/product data. Technical/product data range from requirements and specifications used in design and procurement to maintenance manuals and parts lists used in sustainment of naval ships undergoing maintenance availability; Ensure all aspects of defense systems incorporate technical/product data and require technical/product data management; 2) Providing total life-cycle systems management of program support and sustainment activities in support of naval ships undergoing maintenance availability to translate force provider-specific performance criteria and associated outcome metrics for defense system operational availability and readiness into affordable, total system/total life-cycle support performance capabilities. Oversight of defense system logistics support planning and execution extends business case analyses to cross-program, logistics infrastructure considerations; 3) Select, acquire, store, or distribute an organization's resources in the most efficient way possible. Such resources may include materials, equipment, financial resources, inventory, human skills, production resources, or information technology (IT); 4) Identifies and analyzes ILS support problems in support of naval ships; weighs relevance and accuracy of information; seeks/generates and evaluates alternative perspectives/solutions; makes timely/effective recommendations, based on potential implications of findings or conclusions. Critically evaluates to identify the causes of problems, and chooses courses of action that balance the interests of the mission and stakeholders; 5) Uses reliability and maintainability, operational requirements, existing support systems including system's support needs and preferred support methods and integrated logistical support objectives as inputs and outputs in an integrated support plan for the item/system's life-cycle in support naval ships.
