LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Responsibilities You will manage logistics for weapons systems as a core team member, overseeing cost, schedule, performance, and integration of support solutions. You will analyze supportability, evaluate design alternatives through business case analyses, and implement changes to enhance design supportability. You will develop and integrate a Support Risk Mitigation Strategy into the broader Program Risk Plan, and prepare the program's support budget, accounting for funds to address supportability risks. You will assess product support in proposals, shape support strategies, align timelines, manage logistics, and oversee the support budget. You will plan product support testing, lead support requirements identification, collaborate with partners, and continuously improve system support throughout its life cycle. You will prepare and defend product support funding, develop alternative strategies for budget cuts, tackle technological obsolescence, find lifecycle solutions, and craft support strategies for Marine Corps, Navy, and Department of Defense. You will create and publish disposal plans, manage asset tracking and disposal, analyze data to resolve readiness issues, and present logistics updates during key reviews. Sharing insights and lessons within the Command and Department of Navy. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting product support planning, risk management, AND/OR lifecycle management for military systems; AND Utilizing Strategic budgeting, data analysis, AND/OR stakeholder collaboration as it relates to logistics OR readiness optimization. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized ­Relocation incentives as described in 5 USC 5743 may be authorized in accordance with applicable regulations. PCS is not authorized. This is an obligated position. The former incumbent has return rights to this position under PL 86-585. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
