We are looking for:

This is a key position within the organization and as the Site Logistics Manager you will possess the ability to communicate precisely and fluently at all levels and have daily contact with cross functional areas and senior management to ensure the smooth, safe and efficient execution of meeting production schedules and customer delivery dates. There will be an emphasis on putting management in the field presenting a highly visible presence in the work area taking an active interest in the team’s performance, interests and concerns ensuring established key metrics for the team are met. You will be responsible for the development of your team with emphasis on improving the operatives which will lead to improved efficiencies across the business. You will be the functional point of contact for health and safety, quality, and service delivery taking a lead role in development, definition and delivery of safe working practices. You will also be responsible for managing the 3rd Party offsite Distribution Centre.

You will work closely with site management and the Director Supply Chain - Americas to drive the ethos of Continuous improvement to better the overall operation utilizing techniques such as lean, 5S & Kaizen.

Reporting to the Director Supply Chain - Americas you will have complete autonomy for the day to day leadership of the Warehouse operations.

  Management of goods in, warehousing, and the distribution operations whilst complying with current warehousing, handling and shipping legislation and maintaining the very highest standards of health and safety and security Delivery of raw materials to Production facilities and management of returns. Inventory Management and Control of all stock held in storage locations. maintaining the integrity of data within ERP specifically inventory control The Site Logsitics Manager must have an excellent understanding of best practice warehouse management, inventory control and accuracy and have the ability to manage and develop a team, whilst driving change. The position requires an inspirational leader and outstanding team player, who is self-motivated and can translate plans into results. This individual will be strong in analytical, problem solving and decision making skills with a passion for safety, customer care and quality together with excellent communication skills.

HSE

To promote and ensure compliance with Solvay health and safety guidelines and regulations. Designing, writing, implementing and maintaining the standard operating procedures. To ensure goods are stored in line with Hazcom regulations. To ensure mobile plant is maintained and used in accordance with company rules. To ensure all Manual Handling guidelines are adhered to. Conduct weekly rack inspections, scheduling maintenance, repair and replacements, To delivery training and updates to the team. To complete incident and accident reports and root cause concerns to establish corrective actions and remove hazards.

Warehouse Management

Accountability for the control of flow of goods into the warehouse ensuring that materials required for production are received on time in full, in good quality, receipted into the warehouse and located timely. To work closely with Customer Service and Planning to plan and prioritise in line with customer / supplier order schedules Strong people management and experience of managing throughout a period of change Soliciting key stakeholder support for implementing changes to drive efficiencies and streamline costs High level of interpersonal skills; communication on all levels Strong organizational and analytical skills Experience of driving costs down whilst ensuring high service levels are maintained Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures in line with legislative and Solvay policy guidelines, ensuring they are adhered to and comply with internal and external auditing requirements Oversee planned maintenance of warehouse equipment and vehicles Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately, appraise results, manage discipline whilst ensuring the appropriate levels of overtime and costs are managed effectively and efficiently to meet both operational and legal requirements. Recruit, select, train, supervise and appraise warehouse employees Lead, develop and motivate direct reports so that they deliver or exceed objectives and KPI’S in line with business needs. To identify and improve productivity opportunities within the department through continuous improvement initiatives. Implement lean philosophy and culture. To ensure the warehouse team maintain the integrity of data within ERP specifically inventory control. Ability to work effectively with and across multiple functions including supply chain, procurement production. To ensure all required training is received and recorded. To manage, develop and maintain a replenishment process for all picking and delivering of raw materials to the production facility. To manage picking, packing and preparation of all customer orders. To manage freight forwarders and time slots for loading of vehicles. To manage outside storage facilities and requirements. To manage Known Consignor Status and Dangerous Goods Handling rules ensuring adherence to the regulations, Maintaining a high level of housekeeping.

Managing Inventory

To manage and develop all inventory management and control systems. To manage cycle count and stock take processes. To manage appropriate inventory control measures and root cause and corrective actions to ensure errors, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved. To achieve the agreed inventory accuracy target.

You will bring:

Strong background in ensuring a safe system of work for employees and contractors on-site and ensure systems are up-to-date, in place, correct and being used in order to aid the prevention of accidents, dangerous occurrences or losses. Experience working in SAP in a warehouse environment. Extensive background in managing worldwide distribution of goods to the automotive and aerospace industries with an expertise in current warehouse management procedures and best practices and KPI’s Business aware – capable of assessing the situation and making key decisions using effective delegation to ensure completion of tasks within budget and timescale. Consistent, pro-active, high energy level and able to work on own initiative. Excellent logical and methodical approach, with good communication skills using inclusive fact based approach to ensure efficient communication exchange with all departments demonstrating the ability to influence others. Ability to see the bigger picture, achieve targets and drive the future growth of the business. Excellent numerical and IT skills, Microsoft packages Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives Demonstrable leadership track record embracing core values of ownership & accountability, decisiveness and empowerment, GBU effectiveness, collaborative teamwork whilst encouraging engagement of ideas and utilising a structured approach to manage staff through periods of change Current driving licence

The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $95,000 - 118,000 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
