Logistics Planner

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Logistics Planner is responsible for conducting the day-to-day tactical activities of the logistics function at BrassCraft.  This role will manage the transportation needs of the BrassCraft Supply Chain across all modes of transportation for customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. The Logistics Planner will be in frequent communication with cross-functional teams to support data request and logistics needs.  This includes administrative duties such as tracking orders and interfacing with customers and suppliers when necessary.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Award and coordinate transportation as required for key stakeholdersDecide on appropriate mode of transportation based on load detailsSupport Senior Logistics Analyst in bid processes to maintain optimal market ratesDevelop and manage DOT Compliance, insurance and MCS-150/UCR RegistrationsProvide tracking and tracing support for all stakeholdersLiaison with Customer Service to support returns, call tags, etc.Troubleshoot and resolve carrier failuresIdentify, evaluate, and onboard carriers and maintain carrier relationshipsProcess freight payment files and validate required data fieldsIdentify and manage opportunities for efficiency gains in the transportation processesManage claims process and decide on prioritization of claims filingCreate and maintain internal documentation for work instructionsSupport the Senior Logistics Analyst in annual CTPAT certification activitiesCoordinate and verify international shipment documentationEnsure adherence to U.S. and international laws and proceduresMaintain country of origin data and routing guides in the ERP systemSupport continuous improvement and cost savings efforts in all of Supply ChainCommunicate with third party partners supporting logistics functionsFoster an environment of inclusion in all interactionsSupport and represent Logistics as necessary in Supply Chain meetingsPerform additional duties as needed and assigned

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or related fieldExperience in logistics or transportationAbility to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlinesComfortable navigating complexity and ambiguityIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsAdvanced level MS Excel user

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Experience with JD Edwards, AS 400 Systems

Hiring Range: $48,200.00 - $75,680.00

Actual compensation may vary based on various factors including experience, education, geographic location, and/or skills.
