Focus: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our team. The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and managing the efficient movement of goods, materials, and products. This role involves scheduling shipments, preparing shipping documents, tracking shipments, and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of transportation logistics, and a customer-focused mindset.

Logistics Specialist Essential Job Functions:

Schedules shipments and selects transportation services for materials and products, prioritizing cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Calculates international export, domestic freight rates, and other shipping charges, consulting rate tables and tariff regulations. Reviews shipping bills, classifies freight according to rate books, and ensures proper documentation based on the nature of the shipment. Tracks shipments, handles urgent rerouting or special deliveries, and calculates additional charges such as storage or redelivery. Prepares shipping documents for hazardous or oversized items, ensuring compliance with regulations based on hazard class and shipping requirements..

Logistics Specialist Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent 1+ years of related recent experience.  Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office, with demonstrated Excel proficiency. Strong self-starter with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business results. Demonstrated customer service and relations skills. Ability to understand and apply complex government shipping regulations, with a team-oriented and positive attitude

Location-Specific Requirements: 

Must have a valid US Driver’s License. This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls if required. This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
