RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and coach 25 hourly, union employees as part of the logistics department. Maintain weekly personnel schedule and manage payroll exceptions. Participate regularly in safety activities (i.e. training, observations, audits, risk assessments, etc.). Procure outside services & raw materials for the shipping & receiving areas, and approve associated invoices. Facilitate relationships with external contractors (i.e. carriers, external warehousing, security services). Implement and train standard operating procedures and work instructions. Contact internal & external resources in the event of equipment failures. Communicate with parties within and outside of the supply chain function. Optimize warehousing of raw materials and finished goods. Ensure the accuracy of inventory data in the system in real time and in the right place. Validate the creation of transportation costs and the transfer of costs to Accounting for accounts payable in the system (if outside 4 PL).

ACCOUNTABILITY

Perform monthly cycle counts on raw materials and finished goods inventory. Communicate with Customer Service in the event of production delays. Arrange transportation for LTL and FTL shipments. Post goods receipts and goods issued based on business rules. Coordinate and plan shipping activities to ensure timely delivery. Plan the daily movements of finished products in the satellite warehouses. Optimize trailer loading, in collaboration with customers. Ensure the accuracy and rigor of the dates recorded on delivery.

EXPERIENCE & STRENGTHS & REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in business management with emphasis in logistics/supply chain management or related business discipline. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education. 3 to 5 years of experience in the logistics/supply chain management function Prior leadership experience Proficiency in written and spoken English. Adept at Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint. ERP experience (SAP preferred). Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Sound judgment for problem solving & decision making. Collaborative spirit and willingness to work closely with an array of team members.
