We are seeking a professional like you to ensure the safe and efficient operations of our logistics department at the Malcom, IA location. The primary function of this role is to supervise day-to-day operations of three warehouses, including managing resources assigned to the operation to ensure proper coverage, balanced workload, and effective utilization of employees to meet the production/shipping plan.
During your straight day shift as a Logistics Supervisor, you will Supervise daily activities in the department, providing technical guidance and information as to the shipping schedule and daily work requirements.Work with other site personnel in implementing process improvements, management of change, safety improvements, and quality improvements.Using SAP to order consumables for the department.Manage a private fleet of trucks and trailers to ensure proper DOT compliance.Lead technicians in daily shift discussions to review safety messages, communicate work assignments, review shipping status & priorities. Ensure departmental procedures are current and accurate and that all direct reports have completed all necessary training and possess qualifications to perform the work assigned. Submit SAP work notifications to address repairs and ensure safe work permits are completed accurately as needed for maintenance to complete work safely. Ensure that all activities carried out within your area of responsibility comply with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and all incidents are reported when required.If you...Have a HSD and minimum 5 years of experience working in a chemical manufacturing or logistics industry. Are able to lead/participate in root cause analysis, management of change and timely completion of action items. Have supervisory experience this would be preferred. Are self-motivated with proven leadership skills who can supervise multiple locations at a time.Possess strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with other departments. Are proficient with a computer, including Microsoft Office Suite software. SAP experience is preferred.Create your own chemistry with you@BASF
