Logistics Technician II

The Logistics Technician II is responsible for internal and third party (customer) logistics, which include shipping and receiving, and inventory and asset management using established standard operating procedures and policies.  Will be primarily responsible for assisting customers on the Data Center floor both in person and via the telephone, performing customer equipment storage, managing tickets within the define ticketing system, communicating and escalating alerts and customer requests to DCO Technicians for resolution. .  This role may also be responsible for team lead responsibilities.

This role requires on-site work hours to support a 24X7X365 data center environment and is not eligible for remote and/or hybrid work. 

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.

Physical shipping and receivingPhysical inventoryDelivery inspectionDetailed documentation of incoming / outgoing deliveries, and equipment removalsStocking, organized placement of deliveries receivedAssist with setting Logistics standards  for managed services and making upgrade support and recommendationsImproved system and user performance and respond to and correct database problemsManagement and completion of assigned incidents and tasksPro-actively monitor and analyze database performance and make recommendations for changeReview  published notices from database vendors, review database logs, analyze statistic reports, review user experience and client feedback to identify areas for improvementCreate and forward data reportsRecord, manage, and maintain accurate physical hardware inventory, including performing physical hardware audits.Purchase order receiving and billingManage tickets:This includes ensuring tickets are being opened, worked and escalated based on set standardsReview all resolved tickets to ensure properly documented resolution.Ensure details of the problems and steps taken to resolve ticket are documentedMaintain accurate and detailed logs within the established ticketing system for customer calls and system alerts, as well as for communication and escalation steps taken to ensure prompt resolution of data center facility, network and customer related issuesInstall cabinets and customer equipment based on documentation provided by provisioning and established Data Center Operation proceduresAssist with network cabling installation and removal to support infrastructure needs.Work with customers, other systems engineers, and management to communicate ticket status Conduct daily activities in a safe and compliant manner

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s degree or equivalent professional experienceTwo or more years’ experience in logistics-related functions (shipping & receiving, inventory control, forklift experience)One or more years of experience working in a Data Center, NOC, or similar environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suiteProficiency with ServiceNow or related ticketing applicationExperience with pallet jacks, forklifts, and other related industrial equipmentExperience using scanners and/or handheld computersA+ certificationCompletion of Asset Management courses

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Excellent telephone communication skills, customer service, verbal, and written skills along with good grammar and the ability to take accurate notes are requiredCapable of handling multiple simultaneous tasks under pressure while maintaining strong customer service and professionalismMust be able to lift up to 100 poundsMust be able to work well with others as well as independently without direct supervisionSafety consciousnessDetailed and organization oriented
