WHAT TO EXPECT 

 

As a Value Stream Specialist within the GME-Logistics Strategy team, you will create optimised Intra-Logistics Solutions to feed into Strategic and Off-cycle Projects. These could include studies into global footprint, new products/innovations or make v buy opportunities and will consider impact to upstream and downstream activities.

 

You will be responsible for defining total Intra-Logistics Solutions, evaluating business benefits to ensure optimal solutions for scale of project, feasibility and subsequent business case creation.

 

You will work closely with your colleagues in Logistics Strategy to ensure you are abreast of the most up-to-date and relevant standards and strategy to align solutions to our Logistics Roadmap.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

You will utilise lean principles to identify inefficiencies, streamline logistics operations and reduce waste. You will be responsible for the creation of an efficient Material Flow strategy. This will include Value Stream Mapping, optimised product Storage and Inventory levels, design of Logistics layouts and the simulation of various scenarios to drive the correct end solution. You will be expected to facilitate cross-functional stakeholder engagement for Intra-Logistics within our Industrial Operations and Engineering organisations, ensuring our requirements and impacts are included in all key project decisions (Design for Logistics). With a lean mindset, you will be expected to apply detailed problem-solving techniques and structured approach to issues management from identification, through to robust containment and root cause. You will ensure strategic Intra-Logistics solutions are incorporated into strategic projects planning with a holistic understanding of the logistics value stream. You will be responsible for clear and smooth handover of projects to Programme or Delivery teams and quality feedback loop, to understand how successful your planning was for your customers.

 

WHAT YOU NEED

 

Experience in Value Stream Mapping and process improvement techniques (Lean, Six Sigma, etc). Experience of AutoCAD (or similar tool) for layouts and material flow simulations would be an advantage. Experience of successful Problem Resolution through collaboration and engagement, using structured approach. Negotiation and adaptability skills. Experience of stakeholder management at all levels. Have the ability to travel between sites regularly.
