Job Details:

Purpose

A leadership position within LONESTARP3, reporting to the Director, to support the design, launch, and ongoing activities of the RP3 Research Collaboratives. Develop structured protocols and guidance for the research design, implementation and reporting process to ensure fair and broad participation of all collaborative members.  Review resulting designs to ensure they reflect RP3 priorities, agile designs, and actionable outcomes.  Support translation of research findings into accessible and actionable products and experiences for decision-makers in a position to act.  Monitor and track use and impact of research products, and the experience of RP3 members in their engagement with other members and associated activities and outputs.  

This position is currently funded for two years. Renewal is contingent on the continued receipt of grant funding and satisfactory performance.

Responsibilities

Leadership

Co-develop strategy to form and launch RP3 Research Collaboratives to address select priority research questions. 

Co-develop strategy for the development of translation products to share learning within RP3 and to key intermediary and policy partners. 

Co-develop strategy to monitor product development, dissemination, and use of RP3 translation tools to measure uptake and impact. 

Research Support 

Support foundational research needs of RP3 Research Collaboratives, such as literature reviews, baseline or historical data collection, data access, data agreements, etc. 

Serve as the primary liaison to the Collaborative Leads and contributors, supporting communication across and among collaboratives, contributing to research and data requests, and ensuring progress is being made toward agreed upon deliverables. 

Serve as liaison between Collaboratives and MarCom or designated consultants to create translation products that communicate research findings in accessible ways for intended audiences. 

Document production, dissemination, and use of RP3 research products and experiences to assess reach, uptake, and impact. 

Engage in (at least) one of the Network Research Collaboratives as part of a UT Austin Team and contribute to directly to research design, data collection, analysis, and authoring. 

RP3 Health and Well Being

Develop and implement a study design to capture RP3 member views of the network, how it is (or isn’t) adding value to their research and their constituencies, how it is (or isn’t) increasing access and opportunities to document and monitor the “health and wellbeing” of the RP3 community. 

Professional Engagement

Attend RP3 convenings and events to contribute to the growing partnership research community in Texas and nationally. 

Travel and support to attend at least one annual conference or organized convening to present research activities. 

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in education, economics, or similar field, with 7 years of work experience. Experience in quantitative research methods using state longitudinal data bases. Experience coordinating or administering a program focused on improving student outcomes. Experience communicating best practice and evidence to policy advocates or policy makers. Demonstrated writing, research, and project management skills.  Strong communication skills, as well as an understanding of the higher education research community. Ability to self-start, learn quickly, meet deadlines, and follow through on tasks.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral Degree in education, economics, or similar field, with 10 years of work experience. Experience in postsecondary pathways, in either research, program, or policy roles. Experience with Qualtrics for collecting data and generating reports. Experience with the Texas Education Research Center for accessing data and conducting analyses.  

Salary Range

$100,000+ depending on qualifications

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
