Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for an Intern to join our Communications department based in Miami, FL.
Meet the team:
Our Communications team members provide effective communications to support a variety of Airbus programs through strategic internal, external, social media and crisis communications. Our team is fluent in all areas of digital communications, media and public relations.We leverage available channels and tools, as well as creating new ones. We partner with business units throughout Airbus to position the company as a brand of choice for external customers and employees alike. Join the Communications team and help tell the Airbus story.
Your working environment:
The Airbus Training Center (ATC) in Miami provides flight and maintenance crew training for Airbus airline customers – primarily for those based in the Americas. The custom-designed, 110,000-square-foot complex trains more than 2,000 cadets each year in a range of (six) full-flight simulators, innovative computer-based training classrooms, and cabin door and slide trainers – all simulating the A320, A330, A340 and A350 XWB families of aircraft. In Miami you’ll also find the Airbus Latin America headquarters. A team of 60 employees there provides sales, marketing, contracts, customer support and communications for the region’s commercial aircraft, helicopters and space & defense divisions.
Your challenges:
Work in coordination with the Internal Communications team to support with the creation and posting of content to company intranet and in-house television network
Ensure latest poster campaign is visible and up to date in Miami Blue Lagoon and Miami Training Center offices, and support creation of business case required to transition from printed posters to digital displays
Support communications team based in Latin America by ensuring they have latest internal communications assets and campaigns in their local language
Support the coordination of meetings for Communications team members
Support “Noticias Airbus” (Latin America online customer newsletter released in English and Spanish): Lead editorial board, coordinate translations, manage publication and distribution
Support Community Relations activities for Airbus Latin America, including facility visits, simulator sessions, etc.
Participate in regional comms planning activities
Review and send out weekly Outlook report for stakeholders in Latin America
Work with marketing to ensure the latest fleet information is updated in press kit assets
Provide support for media trips from Latin America by helping with the agenda, security registrations, media profiles, press kits, etc.
Support in maintaining customer giveaways and promotional items inventory
Advise on unique gift ideas for Airbus customers
Manage the production of ‘special’ customer promotional items
Support the organization of events, exhibitions and demo tour planning by liaising with vendors, event organizers, design teams and working with procurement
Organize and/or provide logistical support during a local event
Manage mass mailings, event invitations, RSVPs, etc.
Design and publish invitations, event programs, brochures, record and edit short videos as needed.
Register key Commercial aircraft activities for Latin America in the Radar
Compile PR agency activity reports
Support PR Agency network with requests for Airbus assets such as videos, images and backgrounders
Work in coordination with media teams to update media lists
Support update of editorial, public relations, milestones and other comms related calendars
Other support tasks as needed
Your boarding pass:
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, required
Journalism and Communications majors, preferred
Must be interested in the aerospace industry; aviation knowledge is a plus
Currently located in the Miami, FL metro area, required
Fluent in English and Spanish, required
Ability to work in the US without current or future need of visa sponsorship, required
Previous Airbus internship experience, highly preferred
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the ability to write stories in a news style format (in English and Spanish)
Knowledge of journalistic writing style, such as Associated Press
Comfortable using photography, making videos and desktop publishing tools, Adobe Create Suite
