Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Long-term Intern to join our Tax Accounting department based in Herndon, VA.

During your internship at Airbus, you will be exposed to tax return preparation, tax research, tax planning, and the preparation of supporting workpapers on various tax returns and projects. The position will require strong organizational skills and attention to detail. You will have the opportunity to work alongside, Senior Managers, Managers, and peers as a member of the team. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to learn new skills, be involved in office community activities, and establish relationships with members of the Airbus team. This is a year-round internship requiring 25-30 hours per week (Hybrid).

Our Finance and Accounting team members need excellent analytical and communication abilities to successfully handle our financial portfolio. They provide key analytics – from month-end closing to performance management analysis for our partners. Your Working Environment:

The Washington, D.C. metro area is home to multiple Airbus offices: In our nation’s capital you will find the Airbus Experience Center, a collection of interactive, multimedia exhibitions highlighting the extensive role the company plays in the aviation, aerospace and defense industries in the U.S. and around the world. The D.C. area is also home to our regional corporate headquarters – located adjacent to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) - it makes flying in a breeze!

Your Challenges:

Tracking and day-to-day management of federal, state, and local tax notices

Communicating verbally and in writing with representatives of various tax jurisdictions

Analyzing data to support positions taken on the tax return

Prepares tax provision calculation in accordance with ASC 740

Assist/prepare Federal and state returns for domestic C Corps and foreign entities

Research tax issues on research websites such as CCH

Analyze and reconcile general ledger income tax accounts

Assist/prepare estimates, extensions, and annual reports

Assist/prepare various other analysis and miscellaneous filings for all U.S. entities

Assisting in responding to state and local audit information requests

Opportunity to assist other tax areas with compliance and special projects thus allowing exposure to other areas of tax

Your Boarding Pass:

Must be currently located in the DC Metro/Northern Virginia area and able to work onsite in Herndon, VA.

Required to be currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Graduate degree program from an accredited university with a plan to major in Accounting or Tax

Completion of the first 2 years of a Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited university are required

Minimum 3.0 cumulative Grade Point Average

Intermediate digital literacy in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Desire to work in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrates strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to work well, independently and within a team environment

Curious personality with a desire to understand "how things work" and "how to improve processes"

Previous Airbus internship experience, highly preferred

Authorized to legally work in the United States, required

Physical Requirements:

Vision: adequate sight to perform computer tasks and engage in interpersonal interaction.

Hearing: sufficient to participate in conversations, hear alerts, alarms for personal safety and participate in webinars and live training.

Speaking:  able to participate in conversations and initiate and respond to telephone calls.

Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors).

Sitting:  able to sit for extended periods of time utilizing a personal computer, attending training, meetings or assembling materials.
