Salary: $42,000 per the GTA Contract

Minimum Requirements:
NYS Teaching Certification in Literacy or Reading

Knowledge and or experience in Orton Gillingham, Heggerty, New York State Science of Reading Briefs and Science of Reading research.
Deep knowledge of the New York State Next Generation English Language Arts Learning Standards and engaging ways to teach and assess the standards in the curriculum.
Wide range of knowledge of various texts to support instruction around reading, writing and speaking/presenting.
Position Summary/Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging, student-centered instruction that adheres to research-based literacy practices and standards using a variety of teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of students.
Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment where all students feel supported and challenged.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and evidence based interventions.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, administrators, and colleagues regarding student progress and potential areas for improvement through various reports including RTIM Direct.
Support staff in understanding Science of Reading research, Active View of Reading and lead professional development opportunities for building-level staff.
Engage in department and PLC meetings, collaborate with colleagues, and fulfill assigned teaching duties.
